Live simulation: each grazer's colour shows its top speed, slower to faster

EvoEco Studio

Evolution, simulated.

Interactive natural selection simulations. We build little worlds, let evolution run, and show you what happens. Then you get to explore the same world.

Experiment 01

Two islands. One difference.

Same grass and the same starting population, with small differences in speed. One island has predators. Watch how predation and the energy cost of speed affect natural selection in this model.

How it works

Nothing is scripted.

Every creature carries genes. Offspring copy them with tiny mistakes. The world decides who gets to have offspring. That's all evolution needs, and it's all we give it.

  1. 1

    Ask a question

Each episode starts from a real question in biology, often a famous study.

  2. 2

    Run the experiment

We build a world where evolution actually happens, then watch what it does.

  3. 3

    Play it yourself

Watch, compare the islands, and start another run. Read the explanation to see which rules shape the outcome.

Real simulationsThe footage of every experiment is the simulation itself, not stock clips.
Show the rulesWe say what each model simplifies, and link the science behind it.
AI, labeledWhen we use AI-made visuals, we say so on screen.

EvoEco Studio

EvoEco Studio makes interactive evolution simulations and shares the project on YouTube. Our first experiment explores natural selection by comparing predation and the energy cost of sprint speed.

These are simplified educational models. Their outcomes depend on the rules we choose; they are not reconstructions of a real ecosystem. The Experiment 01 explanation sets out the methods, repeated-run results, limitations, and biological sources so you can examine those choices.
